PL Sides Win at Woodville

The PADHC Premier League sides both recorded strong wins against Woodville on a cold Saturday afternoon. Coming off a two week break the Pies were tested both a much improved Woodville outfits determined to put on a good display in front of their home spectators.

The PL Men started their game strongly against the Peckers and created some early scoring chances through a series of penalty corners. The Woodville defence remained tight over the early periods and made it tough for the Magpies to gain any reward for their control and dominance. Despite this the Men were able to break through twice before the break and remained focussed heading into half time. The second half was very much of the same and two more goals would have pleased the Magpie coach, knowing that a 4-0 results away to Woodville is a good outcome.

The PL Women went into their game against as strong favourites, and it evident from early on that it could be a long afternoon for the Woodville backline. It would prove a frustrating afternoon for the Magpie Women as they struggled to take advantage of the constant attacking chances. To their credit the young Woodville outfit held tough and made it tough to the powerful forward line of Port Adelaide. However the PL Women from Port Adelaide were always in control during the game and would be pleased with the final score of 5-2 on what can be a challenging afternoon at Woodville.
