The Prime Minster announced on the 1st of May 2020 that National Principles for the return of community sport. These principles are accompanied by a set of guidelines from the Australian Institute of Sport (Executive summary & Framework).
In essence there will be a three tiered system of A, B and C which outlines what activities can be participated in. SA currently sits at B which means groups of ten (1 coach and 9 athletes) can train together but must adhere to social distancing measures (1.5 metres). Further principles such as hygiene, non-sharing of equipment, exit and entry points to reduce contact and the like are outlined in the two above mentioned documents.
Minister Wingard has indicated that in the SA context individual sports will need to submit plans to the ORSR to ensure they are meeting the principles. ORSR will publish headline requirements for this and have offered to work with individual sports to develop plans.
