Hello to everyone in the Magpie family,
RETURN TO COMPETITION
I am sure you all have been watching with interest the developments over the past week or so concerning a return to competition hockey.
I am delighted to advise that we now very close to a resumption of play. At this stage we are looking for a return to full competition on the weekend of 26-29 June for all grades (Seniors, Masters and Juniors). However, the start date is yet to be confirmed, but based upon the latest Roadmap from the Office for Recreation Sport & Racing, full competition is scheduled to commence from 24 June.
On the basis that we resume competition on the 26 June, we will have a 14-week competition (2019 – 18 weeks) for all seniors and masters grades. The juniors will have a 2 week break during the July school holidays (dates to be confirmed) resulting in a 12-week competition (2019 – 15 weeks).

TRAINING ARRANGEMENTS

BAR AND CANTEEN/KITCHEN CLUBROOMS
The club will be able to open the clubrooms (with bar and canteen facilities) but will be restricted in the number of members in the club at any one time. The Club has an approved COVID-Safe Plan and we are allowed to have a maximum 20 people in our lounge area, 8 people in the new committee/function room and 10 people outside in the covered patio underneath the verandah adjacent to the grandstand.
MEMBERSHIP & FEES
The club management committee met last night and revised and updated the Budget for 2020 and set revised fees based on a 14-week competition. (See attached schedule of new fees).
- A member in this situation can elect to either have a refund of the balance remaining or have a credit carried over for the 2021 season.
- A full rebate will be applied to those members who have paid the Member Survival Fee fixed when the close was forced to close because of the pandemic. Example: Revised Senior Member fee = $510. Rebate $100 of Club Survival Fee = balance of $410 to be paid.
Payment of revised fees to be paid in full on or before 30 June 2020. Members who pay in full on or before 30 June will be entitled to 10% discount off all bar and/or canteen sales. Our Treasurer John Fisher (treasurer@padhc.com.au) will be issuing revised invoices over the next few days.
Payment by instalments:
- A member can elect to pay their fees by 3 instalments
- First instalment on or before 30th June
- Second instalment on or before 31 July
- Third instalment on or before 31 August
- A member can elect to pay weekly or fortnightly payments by direct debit from their credit card.
For all junior players who are at primary school (Year 7 and below) the Sports Voucher programme is available for up to $100 to pay fees. A Sports Voucher must be completed and lodged with the club. Download and complete your voucher at https://sportsvouchers.sa.gov.au/ and when completed hand to either Bec Anderson, Club Vice President Juniors or Dennis Meredith, Club President.
All requests for payment by instalment or by direct debit should be sent to Nicole Szkolik, PADHC Membership Coordinator (membershipcoordinator@padhc.com.au ) who will organise these requests.
Apart from the good news of returning to play, the continued transformation of the clubrooms continues and is now nearing completion. You will all be advised of the date for a good ‘old fashioned’ Club Working Bee will be announced shortly. This working bee will focus upon a complete clean up of the club, both inside and out in preparation for our first home Premier League matches for the season.
In the meantime, continue to take care, keep safe and thank you for your support. Again I repeat, please do not hesitate to contact me if you require further information. In particular, if you wish to discuss on a confidential basis any problems you may foresee in paying your fees to resume playing, please call me. My mobile is 0416 955 082
